Development of a Whole Sport Plan for Snowsport England

In June 2008, Sport England launched a new strategy which changed the delivery and funding mechanisms for sport.   Governing Bodies are to be given a higher profile in that delivery than they have for many years, and Snowsport England is keen to help them meet their participation targets.  Syzygy Leisure have been working with Snowsport England to develop their funding application to Sport England, and the outcome is expected early in 2009

Development of Corporate Strategy

Feedback on the emerging plan for 2009 , and help with identifying and prioritising the key objectives in the operational plans for each area/discipline. The main objective is to formulate a plan which is understandable and achievable for an organisation which is primarily run by volunteers, providing the board, the staff and the management committees focus and direction.

Funding Application to the Impact and Improvement Fund (CCPR)

Successful application to the CCPR for funding for the further development of Club Development, Databases and Child Protection work.  This resulted in Snowsport England receiving  £28,000 of funding

Snowmark

Snowsport England have asked us to help them to develop their new club accreditation scheme - Snowmark.   Based on Sport England's well established Clubmark scheme, Snowmark has been developed to recognise the unique characteristics of snow sport clubs and recognise those clubs that are well managed by awarding them a kitemark.

As a first part of the process we consulted with all registered clubs in England to seek their views on what the award should contain, and the results can be read here. (pdf file).

Congratulations to Kendal Ski Club and Norfolk Ski Clubs who successfully piloted Snowmark for Snowsport England and are now the first Snowmark and Clubmark accredited ski clubs in the country

We will shortly be working with a group of other clubs to become accredited

For more information about Clubmark is available on the Sport England website on
