Feasibility Study for extension to Village Hall in Wavendon Development of a project to extend the village hall to increase sporting provision in the village. This resulted in a new partnership being developed with the neighbouring school, and a redefinition of the original project. Feasibility Study into the provision of a new ice rink Commissioned by Milton Keynes Council and funded by English Partnerships, this project explored the potential for the development and management options for a new ice rink in the city in six different sites. Costings, sports development outcomes and business plans were produced for the sites resulting in preferred location for development being proposed. Review of School Swimming across the Borough This research examined all aspects of the delivery of school swimming including teaching, awards, transport, facility hire. Through site visits, questionnaires, discussions with teachers, providers and schools it provided a number of options for the delivery of the programme for the future. Development of a new ice rink in Milton Keynes Examination of the design, management and financial viability of the proposed new ice rink development adjacent to Milton Keynes Station . The report formed the basis of the Sure Start and Community Learning Directorates response to a planning application. Bid to host the UK School Games Milton Keynes Council, in conjunction with English Partnerships commissioned us to prepare a bid for the city to host the UK School Games. The bid, which was prepared in four weeks, was based on the theme of "Catching the Imagination, Pushing the Boundaries". It identified the venues for a wide variety of sports, accommodation for up to 3000 athletes and coaches in one venue, a diverse cultural programme to run along side the Games and the Legacy which the Games would leave. Review of Outdoor Education Provision in the City Milton Keynes Council currently operate two outdoor education centres, one in the city, the other in Cumbria. These elements will be compared with other similar provision elsewhere in the country with a view to providing options for future delivery Development of a new Sports Development, Playing Pitch and Facilities Strategy for Milton Keynes Milton Keynes is a City of Sport. To remain as such, and for it to develop further takes planning.Over the next few months we will be working to develop a new Physical Education and Sport Strategy and a new Playing Pitch strategy which will replace the existing ones due to expire in 2008.
