The English Volleyball Association has recognised the need to establish a baseline with regard to participation levels in Volleyball in England. This important piece of research will guide the EVA's future strategic direction and Whole Sport Planning process. The aim of this project is to establish a complete and accurate picture of the participation levels and a profile of participants in volleyball. This includes volleyball in all its variations, including beach and park volleyball, and from casual through to competitive organised volleyball. |

The research:
During the research we made contact with Local Authorities, Clubs and other organisations who are involved in or have a connection with volleyball. We were particularly interested in hearing from clubs who have had no connection with the EVA as they play an important part in the sport. Over 200 "new" clubs were found. We were interested in finding more details about clubs and players so clubs and players were asked to complete questionnaires. Nearly 300 clubs and 800 players completed the questionnaire which has provided the EVA with much valuable data. We are very grateful to everyone for taking the time to do so. The final report is available for download here as a pdf file - please click Also available is the presentation given to the EVA as a PowerPoint presentation - please click and a PowerPoint presentation of the maps showing locations of the clubs in England and Wales - please click |
