Research into the role of Sport, Physical Activity and Culture in Community Strategies

During March and April 2006 Syzygy Leisure embarked on a project for Sport England - South East and Culture South East to identify the role that sport, physical activity and culture play in community strategies across the South East of England.   During this research contact was made with every partnership in the region, and recorded over 95% response rate to the questionnaire.

The results created a unique snapshot of the contents of community strategies, identifying in each responding area:

This information was then collated to develop recommendations to Sport England and Culture South East which will influence their future work in the future.   The report also identified examples of good practice from across the country.
